Privacy policy

In short: your search profiles and saved listings stay in your browser. When you run an analysis, the page you're viewing and the selected profile are sent to our server and to OpenAI to produce the result. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking.
What stays on your device
These are stored only in your browser's extension storage and are never sent to us, except as described below:
- Your search profiles (names and requirements)
- Listings you save, with their analysis results
- Your settings, such as the theme
Uninstalling the extension deletes this data.
What is sent when you run an analysis
Only when you ask Listwise to analyze a page, it sends:
- Content from the page you're viewing: its address (URL), title, headings, description, product attributes, visible text and structured data, limited in size.
- The selected search profile: its name and requirements.
- A random install ID: created by the extension when it's first used. It isn't linked to your name, email or Google account, and we use it only to apply usage limits.
Listwise doesn't read pages in the background and doesn't collect your browsing history. Nothing is sent until you run an analysis.
How we use it
- To produce the analysis. Our server forwards the page content and profile to OpenAI, which evaluates each requirement and returns the result.
- To apply fair-use limits. We count analyses per install ID and per network. Your IP address is stored only as a one-way hash. These counters expire after 6 hours and are deleted by a daily cleanup.
- To avoid repeating work. If the same page is analyzed again with the same requirements, we return a cached result. Cached results (the verdicts, short evidence quotes and summary, not the full page) expire after 24 hours and are deleted within a day after that.
We don't use your data for advertising, profiling, or anything other than providing the analysis you asked for.
Service providers
- Cloudflare hosts our server and database. It processes requests, including your IP address, to deliver the service. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
- OpenAI processes page content and requirements to generate the analysis. We ask OpenAI not to store responses, and under its API terms, API data isn't used to train its models by default. OpenAI may keep API data for a limited time for abuse monitoring. See the OpenAI privacy policy.
We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
Chrome Web Store user data policy
Listwise's use of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- Only run analyses on pages you're comfortable sending for processing. Avoid pages that show personal or sensitive information about you.
- Delete profiles and saved listings at any time in the extension, or uninstall it to remove all local data.
- To ask about or request deletion of server-side data linked to your install ID, contact us. Include your install ID if you can.
Children
Listwise isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change how Listwise handles data, we'll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the Chrome Web Store listing.
